Whoever has access to the main key and the backup key associated with a wallet has access to the wallet itself. Only the creator of a Bitwala wallet who holds the keys has access to it. The backup key and the main key can be used to restore a wallet in case you forget your wallet password.
Upon wallet creation, the keys are displayed only to the wallet creator and will not be shown again. If you do not write down the backup key and the main key once they are generated, you will not be able to retrieve them again. These keys are only displayed to the person who creates the wallet. Therefore, we advise everyone to write them down immediately and to store them in a safe place.
Bitwala does not see the keys when they are generated. Bitwala cannot and will not ever have access to your wallet.
