The Bitcoin Vault is not directly available in the app and has to be created first. During the creation process, a private key is generated for you, which serves together with your Bitcoin Vault password as a cryptographic access to your funds.
Your private key consists of English word sequences and is irreplaceable, so it should be kept safe.
If you don't have any experience with self-custodial wallets, we recommend you read our best practices on Crypto Vault backups before you start creating your Bitcoin Vault. You need your biometrics enabled in the security setting on your phone to create a Bitcoin Vault.
Instructions
-
Log in to the Bitwala App, go to Account and then Bitcoin Vault.
-
You will now be guided step by step through the creation process. You will need a pen, a piece of paper and silence.
